Estate Planning
Planning for the distribution of one's estate after one’s passing is a matter of critical importance. Failing to make appropriate plans could mean that a judge, who knows nothing about you, your beliefs, or your desires, could determine how your estate is distributed and he may distribute it in ways of which you would not approve. His services will not be free either. He, and the court, will receive payment from your estate for the "services" he renders. This is known as probate, and can be quite costly to your estate.
Because such planning is so very important, Westview, through the Westview Foundation, can help you set in place plans for your estate, so that you will be the one who determines the impact of your estate on the lives of others after you depart from this life.
The Role of the Westview Foundation
The Westview Foundation is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization that was established to help individuals in their financial planning for the future. It can help provide both life-time income and estate planning services. This Foundation, while providing service to you, also seeks to help provide for the future of Christian child care, both at Westview Boys' Home and at other child care facilities deemed fitting by its board of directors.
Estate Planning Services Are Available
Our trained professionals possess valuable knowledge that can help you structure your estate in ways that can help reduce estate taxes, increase the amount you can provide financially for those for whom you care, and make charitable contributions, all at the same time. The tax codes actually provide vehicles that are intended to encourage individuals to support charities at their passing. Furthermore, when the individuals take advantage of these vehicles, their heirs may benefit financially as well.
Security of a guaranteed life-long income: charitable gift annuities. These vehicles can help secure your future income. While providing for substantial tax benefits now, frequently such annuities pay better guaranteed interest rates than do certificates of deposit (CD's). When you purchase a charitable gift annuity, you make a gift to the charity, and it in turn makes annuity payments to you in a guaranteed amount for the remainder of your life. These payments can be made monthly, quarterly, semi-annually or annually, depending on how you want to receive them.
